Deposit
My salesman asked me yesterday if I would like to place a deposit for the D5. Originally I said no but today I thought why not.
If it proves too expensive or not to my liking then I will stick with the current one.
So £500 (fully refundable) lighter and a place in the que.
Anyone else? Or am I the only daft one?23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

all it will be is a slightly larger DS with an extortionate price tag, good luck!

Funnily enough I just asked for my deposit to be refunded yesterday.
Put it down when we bought swmbo a new Evoque in March because she wasn't sure she'd like it, coming from a D4, but she absolutely loves it, so happy days for a couple of years.
Hopefully by then it will be launched, initial glitches sorted, and discounts negotiable.

Yeh, but the wind has changed direction
I'm more than happy to keep my current one should the next one be less than impressive.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

The DS still haunts me, that's why I initially said no. Being based on the Range Rover chassis I'm hoping for good things.

The thing I find strange about the auto ingenium DS is that all the road tests show much slower 0-60 times than LR claim.2014MY Discovery

*Sticks head above parapet* Yes Did it too in January ...
Well after being given a stonking great quote for our D4 11 plate to have £3500 of work done to it (fuel guage no longer worked, needed new tyres, squeaky suspension from front needing replacement), we thought we'd trade it in for a very shiny new black with black pack and almond interior D4 that was sitting on the forecourt.
However Mr Pollski did remind me how we'd feel, seeing the new D5s driving around town and how we wished we had waited.
So we paid up to get ours fixed, stuck a deposit down, and now waiting to see what the D5 will be like.
If we don't like the look of it or we feel it doesn't meet our needs (2 kids, 2 dogs, lots of activities) we'll be looking for another D4.
I do have high hopes for the D5. They can't get it 'that' wrong.

Just spoke to the dealership for a D5 update. They still know nothing but have now been told they can no longer take new D4 orders so D4 production is stopping to make way for D5 production.
