Which Awning for D3?
I'm thinking of getting an awning for my D3 and appear somewhat stumped by the sizes.
I keep coming back to this item listed on eBay ( LINKY ) and was wondering is 1.4 metres a bit on the short side? Am I better getting a 2m awning or is that a bit too long for the Discovery roof? Maybe you have a 1.4m and can comment on it's practicality.
Also, does anybody have any experience of Direct 4x4 of Derby who are the sellers in the eBay link?

That's not the type I meant tbh, I want the roof mounted pull out type that just forms a roof for sitting under. Mods:

Foxwing on mine. I wouldn't go small, with driving rain, or low sun you end up with very little usable area.

I've got a second hand Foxwing I'd sell, with brackets to mount onto LR roof bars or a roof rack...

My 2.5m howling moon is a great size but it is a bit of a javelin stickin out the front! It was okay on the old D2 as the windscreen was nearly vertical

Nice job with the flue from your stove James. Where did you get the flashing kit from, what stove do you have and do you have any pics of the setup inside?

Cheers
I swapped my side panel with BlackNsilver on here, as he wanted one without what has kindly been dubbed 'a glory hole' by my mates, and I wanted one with So I'm afraid he'll have to give you the details. I don't think it's hard though, it just needs a bit of bravery and a stanley knife. The flue just bolts on.
More pictures of the stove here, and pre-glory hole have a look here (better photos in this one of the stove lit)
James
PS I think +1 for 2.5m being a good size, I think much smaller and you'd struggle to sit a couple of big chairs and table under there. But I'm happy to be proven wrong!D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

To be totally honest, to invest in a Foxwing wouldn't be right for the amount of camping I do and what I want to use an awning for. Must admit the facility to be able to connect to my Oztent would be nice. Mods:
