New discovery or something else |
|
So facing a bit of a dilemma and want to open up the wisdom of the masses!
Currently have a MY12 D4 and a 11 plate Fiesta. I regularly use the fiesta for commuting, saving the miles on the D4.
We've been out today and went to Motorpoint in Peterborough with the intention of changing the Fiesta as we have baby number one on the way and thought it would be good to get something slightly larger. However were somewhat underwhelmed with Quashqai and Sportage like cars and came away thinking that we should keep the Fiesta and just update the Disco (sounds like a win) so went into Marshalls just up the road but all the sales staff were busy.
This probably saved us a fortune! But did get us thinking about a new one.... So should I go from MY12 HSE to new Landmark...
What bits in the Landmark will I like or hate?
I've already noticed 20" wheels (I'd rather 19") and the loss of the auto dipping rear view mirror? What else is different? Pro's and cons? Or is it better holding out for a late HSE? Sill protection - LED internal lights - LED reverse lights - boot liner - Dog Guard - Rock sliders

A little premature but Landmark will have to and DVDs to keep the new one entertained.
Difference will depend on how good a spec you have on your hse.
Landmark standard has heated steering wheel adaptive bi xenon lighting, drl,s extended roof rails 20 in wheels tv dvd over standard hse spec.
Landmark is quieter and smother with eu6 engine and has stop start and ad blue as well which reduces the rd tax D4 Landmark MY16 Santorini Black THE LAST

Thanks, the only items that I think are an issue are the wheels - do these make the ride harder? And the dimming mirror. Such first world problems Sill protection - LED internal lights - LED reverse lights - boot liner - Dog Guard - Rock sliders

Pretty sure my landmark has an auto dipping rear view mirror can't comment on the wheels as came from a freelander but a very smooth drive - you could always buy a set of 19" wheels to fit if it's a major problem.
I was also a little confused by the brochure spec staying manual dipping mirror but it appears to be part of the bright pack.

Thanks - that's one to ask the dealer then! I've already got a spare set of 19" wheels for when I go off road (as I wanted at least one full size spare)!

if you are happy with the D4 then the landmark comes with literally everything added to it.
I currently drive a RRS2 and am looking to change to a landmark in the next couple of months purely because of the spec and capabilities.
the only other vehicle which is appealing is the new Volvo XC90 - it is similarly priced to the landmark for a kitted R line model which has most of the bells and whistles of the landmark, but essentially missing the uprated sound system and rear tv screens to keep my little ones occupied

Is the Auto Dipping mirror a big thing, the Landmark comes with Privacy as standard sort of negates the need for an auto dipping mirror
Plus over the HSE you get the higher spec leather and Hi-Beam assist, which I'm told is very good but yet to try it myself
I use 19" for winter use, 20's are fine for me, not a lot firmer to be honest, but I like the less roll you get by having the 20's compared to the 19's.

True - the tinted glass helps.
Not sure you get the Hi-Beam assist as standard Thought that was an extra, but you do get adaptive xenons, which I really miss from my last car (Mondeo) Sill protection - LED internal lights - LED reverse lights - boot liner - Dog Guard - Rock sliders

Go for ot, I've gone from MY13 to a Landmark, love it, only looked out of interest fearing the D5 will be out of reach so wanted a very last of the D4 as a long term keeper, but negotiated a very favourable deal for this one.

I went from a 2012 HSE to a MY16 lux
Euro6 Engine is much smoother.
and if your 2012 is like mine was then much more importantly there is no delayed reaction on the touch screen it accepts it as you type. Witch craft i tell you! MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten
