I completely agree with the stop start issues, hopeless system to meet emissions testing. Otherwise it's an awesome motor.

I would hope that after 12 years since it's original launch things would have improved somewhat 
But I remember driving my bright and shiny new D3 back in 2004 and thought it was the 'dogs danglies' I now think my D4 is the 'dogs danglies' 
Not impressed with the Stop Start though. Have it on my Ducato Van which is a manual but a far better system. Put it in neutral foot off the clutch and it stops, foot back on the clutch and it fires up. Nice feature is when in stop start traffic you have to go over 6 mph before it works again.
I know you can turn it off but that just seems to make it a bit of a waste to have it on there in the first place. Apart from that I love it  Discovery 4 HSE

My first D4 had stop start. The stop start on my current D4 hasn't worked once in the 2 1/2 months and nearly 7,000 miles that I've owned it (it's an ex LRM car and I'm wondering if the person from LR that ran it knew how to disable it!). Surprisingly, I miss it. I miss the silence when sitting in traffic.
I'm going to ask for it to be fixed

Yep... went from my12 to 16
Its quieter, mostly due to new wing mirror shape
Stop start does not cause me issues and kicks in normally when queuing
It seems smoother - perhaps a slightly different engine map? Sill protection - LED internal lights - LED reverse lights - boot liner - Dog Guard - Rock sliders

Hi, newish to this site and wouldnt normally contribute but this thread struck a cord. I went from 2010 HSE to 2015 HSE LUX with a host of extras. Whilst there is definatly progress, the 2010 seemed better screwed together. Paint does not seem to be as tough, inparticualr on the wheel arches, i was told this was due to new EU laws dictating the paint recipe. i've also had a high freq tone from the speakers when the ICE is off, the driver seat rock back and forth, seats in the back come loose and windows not wanting to auto rise. Thankfully, all have been rectified, but I had the 2010 HSE for 5 years without an issue. Maybe I'm lucky........
