AutoTrust Formula 1 Warranty - any Good?
My 12m warranty runs out soon and the company AutoTrust (part of Car Care Plan) is offering me another year for £476 or £507 with breakdown assistance. Most people on here seem to have warranties through Warranty Direct so I wondered if anyone has experience of AutoTrust?
A big consideration for me though is the VAT registered mechanic requirement. I have my cars serviced by a non-VAT registered garage owning mate who is one of the best and cheap for me. So the cost of the warranty for me is added to by having someone else service it (and the risk of it being done correctly!).
Still I have 6 weeks to decide

May have this all wrong , but do they state who you have to service it!
Surely this only applies to repairs that may be required under the warranty and if covered your not going to be bothered by the repair bill and send to a VAT registered garage as per their requirements.D4 Landmark MY16 Santorini Black THE LAST

You have it wrong Lespes - servicing must be done in accordance with manufacturers specs by a VAT registered garage.

Thats right, and it has to be within something like 1000miles of the service interval or 4 weeks of the anniversary ( not yer wedding anniversary )D4 GS 12MY

Knew it had to be manufactures service schedule saw it on website but did not state vat registered garage only, prob in the very small print.
So downside is saving a few hundred against the possibility of saving thousands if it does go wrong.
If looking for peace of mind then would go for proven warranty provider, like anything you mainly get what you pay forD4 Landmark MY16 Santorini Black THE LAST
