Just got to get the car first which relies on my folks sorting out a new Landmark. Hopefully it will all come together.

Ok, next daft question. Are the service records available on-line and what level of detail does that go down to?

On the new cars service records are online but you have to sign up then LR will send a code so you can register. Which took about a fortnight via email
Mines gets its first service next week so I will what is displayed online.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

I gather the curly lead is the old iPhone 30 pin connector, would I need an adaptor for the lightning connector, or do I just use a spare lightning cable from the USB to the phone?

Online service records weren't introduced until end 2014 I think, so it won't have any data for anything prior to that. Most dealers don't bother entering the online record either if the car was supplied with a service book . I think D4s stopped being supplied with a service book in early 2015 so I would say your chances of anything service wise being in the online system are nil.
The level of detail is poor anyway. The total level of detail for my first sevice is " Year 1 Servce"

Ok, not a problem, many thanks. Just thinking through all the implications of owning a D4 that I didn't have to worry about with a D3.

I think you need an apple adapted, although I haven't got one yet!

Yup, you'll need an Apple 30-pin to Lightning cable. Careful with non Apple cables as many only playback and don't charge the phone.
All you other questions already appear answered by if you have any give me a call as it's basically the same spec as my Bali Beastie LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Re on line service record - took around 2 months or more to sort out - emails/phone calls to and fro....
Eventually get to see it - nothing like the old detailed invoice - just !st service done or some such.... no mention of 2 pages of 'snagging' thats still going on....
Waste of time! ...... but there again I suppose the old service book was just the same - stamped and that was it - but at least then - as I recall - you also got a detailed invoice..... and a vehicle check list (tyre tread depths etc etc) and the like ..... nothing now...?2016MY Discovery HSE - Black
