A Bar top brackets broken

There was a thread a few weeks ago about the a bar top brackets breaking. Mine have broken on the G4 and when I took it for a lot of warranty work today, they advised that this was not a warranty part, and it would be £400+ to replace them (have to buy whole kit sir.....must remove and replace all fasteners.... dum di dah.... Evil or Very Mad ). What is more annoying is another G4 owner had exactly the same problem and his (unrelated) dealer fixed them under warranty no problem.

Anyway - what is the part number for the top clips fitting set (I think it was about the £35 mark) and Nick/RPJ/any other friendly dealer, have you got any in stock? (I am sure I can fit them myself Whistle )

Yup and mine are broken again. Rolling Eyes My dealer will be replacing them again under warranty, and will continue to do so. Having got through so many sets, they seem to accept that they are not breaking due to wear and tear.

Mine last about, on average, 6 weeks, and I get them replaced and re-fitted when it goes in, which is every time the park brake fails so that's about every 6 to 8 weeks Laughing

Mossy - is your A-Bar flexing under the V8 accelaration? I took mine off some time ago as they were fouling getting the grill off and haven't put them back on - I can not see what useful purpose they serve Confused

Nice Job RLD Thumbs Up

I removed one of the plastic grommet pop rivet thingys on each clip so that they can be swung out of the way when removing the grill.

I know Very Happy

And I'm happier than a happy person, who's just overdosed on happy pills whilst being congratulated on winning the lottery for the tenth week running, and finding himself in a hot-tub with a dozen beautiful girls.
