My D4 HSE Lux
I've not got any photos to upload yet but will get onto it.
I collected my 64 plate D4 HSE Lux from Pentland Land Rover in Cupar on Sat and had a good bleather with Alan when I borrowed his roof bars a few minutes later. I got them fitted this morning, two bikes on the roof and off to the Lake District with the kids for a few days. What a great introduction to Disco ownership after 8 years with two different Ford S-Max. That was a good car, but noting on this. It was due a big service and had a lot of niggles so it was time to change. I thought about it this time last year but really wanted a facelift model with stop start but couldn't afford it then. I'm glad I waited. I got a really nice Santorini Black model with side steps and mud flaps fitted. Now with disco4.com stickers and and "uncle ray" spare wheel protector fitted too.
I absolutely love it to drive, so comfortable and that engine is immense. Gearbox is lovely and smooth too. The kids enjoyed being in the back and liked being even higher up than they were before. My youngest would have thrown up at least once on the trip down today but she was good as gold. The rear TV's and wireless headphones make a massive difference from iPad brackets! With bikes on the roof there was plenty of space for the kids tandem bike in the boot along with scooters and all the other crap that goes with a family trip. Left the wife at home as she's got them next week - Fife schools hve 2 weeks off.
There's a couple of things I miss from my old car that it would have been nice to have in this given the hight end spec otherwise - adaptive cruise and blind spot warning in the mirrors would be good. Adaptive cruise does / can make you a lazy driver though but I'm surprised how much i used to use it.
It's been an interesting few days on here since I ordered the car and the forum has been a great wealth of information and advice. Will get some pics of the car up soon.

Great choice of car and spec. I had the same one as you but on a 13 plate and it was great. Still one of my favourite cars. Enjoy

My grandparents used to have a caravan at Clayton caravan park next to Cupar, lovely area.
Anyway, on topic, yes, some of the tech on the D4's is left wanting a bit, my 2007 Q7 had adaptive cruise, which I loved, and blind spot indicators in the mirrors, really miss those bits, but the D4 is a lovely car to drive, and to look at, so it makes up for it in that way, character they call it!

I just last weekend picked up a 65 plate HSE and didn't notice at dealers but it's got blind spot which is very good. Flashes faster if cars approaching at speed, slower if cars approaching slowly

Took the car back to the dealer today. Having done 500 miles since I collected it I noticed a steering judder above 60 and on a closer look around the car significantly uneven tyre wear on front passenger side. All the rest are fine.
Every tyre was at a different pressure and they said it needs a full 4 wheel alignment and re-balance. So what about the LR used car inspection? I'd have thought checking the tyre pressure is pretty fundamental and one of the easiest things they can do! Anyway they've got no service courtesy cars until November so I'm waiting for them to arrange the use of their demonstrator and get them to collect and deliver.

Yes it does have TPMS and no it didn't warn! Back were under inflated by 5 psi, fronts one over and one under. Didn't say which but may be partly responsible for the wear. Will take a picture in better light tomorrow.

Don't know that these really show the issue with the tyres as well as seeing them in the rubber. The outside of the passenger side is definitely more worn that the driver side or the rears. The dealer said that some other brands of tyres are bad for this but they've never had any issues with scorpions.
The vibration is much better since the pressures were all re-done.
