Mick Thanks, much appreciated. Let me know price/donation etc & I'm sure we can exchange at one of the Northern meets
Peanut Bob, thanks, but Size 8 too small or too big. I've got a pair of Berghaus boots I used to use when Winter mountaineering which I'll see if they're a) Still on one peice b) suitable for ski's. I'm pretty sure they are as I used to use them with snap on Crampons.
We're going on 22nd December (or is it 23rd...?) for the Christmas week. The hotel place is apparently the best children's hotel in the area. Even includes 60odd hours of babyminding
John C, bought my Ski Jacket & some layers from TK-Max, last seasons colours (oh no... ) but good prices for some decent breatheable branded gear. They didn't have anything suitable for the kids in our local one, but there's another one not too far away so we'll have a look around.
Will have to look up chill factore for some practice & perhaps some pre-slope lessons Bodsys Brake Bible

Just for info, here's a piste map of Zell am See.
Ref boots and skis, you may want to hire them at the resort. There are 2 good shops which will fit you all out and measure you accordingly ref height, weight etc. It is a lot less hassle then paying megabucks on boots and skis here, checking them in and paying extra on the plane and so forth. Unless, you're driving down in the D3...with a full rack of skis etc! Which wll look the part!!! I once drove to Verbier in another 4 wheel driive (no names...) topped out with skis and racing bikes...so we had a few days zooming aroung the French Riviera in March and then shot up to Verbier for some glorious skiing, and then drove back thru France stopping at various gastonomiqe delights and wine cellars...

Thanks for the info PB was going to hire the boots & ski's as you're right, it's a hassle to take it and the kids and all the other luggage. As you say, be OK if I was driving there.... Bodsys Brake Bible
