The Austrian Tyroll is a favourite for me without the snow - as black tarmac helps when you are on two wheels. Zell am See is a nice place and I can only imagine that it would be a great base for alpine ski-ing. Not to far from Kitzbuhel either....The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

They aren't so much fun in the snow as a pair of skis...... This pic was taken after we had just come off the bike in an unplanned fashion.....

Chill Factore opens near the Trafford Centre in November - you can come and have a practise before you go.Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

If you get stuck, then TKMAX (I think they have them in most big cities) is really useful for picking up cheaper branded ski wear.2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +

I've got a hardly used pair of Salomon boots, abt 15 yrs ols, so they're a bit passe! Size 8 I think.
Zell's great by the way, - absolutely ideal for kids of that age. Plenty of mixed ski ing. There's a tobogganing place which you reach by minibus - great fun - and Salzburg itself in the depths of Winter if there's snow in the town is wonderful. In Zell there's a good italian in the centre which is always busy, if you want a change of menu!

I can't wait for Chill Factore to open 8) I can see it becoming a regular haunt. It looks absolutely fantastic from the Barton Bridge.
