Hi All
My auto gearbox on 2006 D3 (130000 miles) is making a whining noise on accelerating from low gear up, and is also slow changing. Also it clunks into gear when pulling away from rolling and sometimes hesitates when pulling away, does this mean the gearbox is foobarred
thanks for any replies
Gid.

Hi Gid
I had some issues with my gearbox many moons ago, as it was under warranty, they replaced the box.
They said it was a chain inside the box that was making the whining noise.
I would suggest, a change of oil + a gearbox reset.
I'm often in Winchester should you wish to meet and discuss how to change gearbox oil.
best regards

Don't reset it! I did so in a similar situation and it made everything worse. I'll be taking mine to a gearbox specialist soon.
