47 Minutes.............Body Off
This is what the service reception (manager?) at the LR dealer i went to on Tuesday claims one of his senior technicians has managed to seperate body from chassis.
I am assuming he had help from his assistants, but i din't ask.

I cannot comment on the competency of the senior tech, but i wasn't impressed with the other techs who were supposed to check my towbar and sent the Discovery back giving it the all clear, until i questioned the service manager how they had managed that with a broken key in the lock and a seized towbar.
Took it back in, replaced the lock gratis and removed, cleaned & greased the towbar and did the checks again.
The fact that the service manager promised that a 'health check' would be done and a copy available to me and a vac and wash............well that didn't materialise and as i had been waiting near enough 3 hours, i thought better of it and left, although he did promise to email me the copy of the health check. Yes i am still waiting.

Quickest I have ever achieved a body off on my own is 1hr 45mins...
Obviously a little longer to put it back together, as you need to bleed brakes, refill coolant, gas AC and so onMy D3 Build Thread

I would like to name the dealer, but must hold my counsel as i do not think that would be right as i have replied to a generic text from the service department asking a simple yes or no if i was pleased with the service.
I replied no, to which i received another text for reasons or call back from their dept. I have replied to that today so await.
I can understand your asking as you are local and to this end i will PM you the name.

So I assume they will be charging no more than 1 hours labour to take the body off?

My D3 had the body off at guy salmon Coventry 6hrs off & back on including repair is what I was charged and I was even shown the vehicle with the body off , I suppose if you have the right equipment & knowledge many things can be done
I watched it done only yesterday and i can tell you that is :censored:ocks . It took 3 hours to separate it and a bit longer to sort a few other things out as it was coming off. Did not help he had to keep answering the phone talking to customers but you get the drift 45 mins my The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
They just make the best of everything they have.
