Been running these rims now for 15k miles with duratracs on and not had an issue, no rubbing, no spacers used, even checked out the top thread sticky on here about wheels that will fit the D3 and they are the first ones mentioned so here's the problem.
Did the height sensors today and thought I might as well do the front to back swap, went round the block to give the suspension a chance to sort itself out and lots of grinding noise from the front, whipped the fronts off and noticed that the rims had been rubbing against the brake carriers, strange as the ones that were on the front to start with were fine, checked the dates on them and one said 07 the other said 07-08. Both myself and mate were a bit confused by this, all rims come off one vehicle so the questions are:-
Anyone else had this issue (have had a read on the forum)
Looking to do the v8 brake upgrade so should I get spacers all round just to make sure and size wise 3 or 5mm ( eBay halfords or forum member got any they are not using)
Here's the rim
Thanks for reading
Chris

I ran a set of those rims on my D3 with and without the V8 brakes. Two sets of different types of tyres as well. No problems whatsoever. Still one of my favourite LR wheel designs 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

I wonder if they've been machined then?
Loads of us here have used this style FFRR rim over the years with no issues at all.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

offset size (53) should be cast into the back of one of the spokes

is the LR logo cast into the castings - it should be on genuine LR alloys along with weight rating. Just wondering if these are genuine given the issues.
Fouling the front calipers on the TDV6 was an issue with FFRR pre 06 19" alloys (as per 2nd pic down)

Al, were the earlier FFRR 19" rims not 6 spoke? I remember that they wouldn't clear the front caliper on a D3.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Very odd indeed. I used that style 7 spoke rim on my D3, with both MTR's and then ATR's. IIRC, I also fitted them on my first D4.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

There were some of these FFRR rims with dimples at the hub end, these didn't fit at the time. Will try & find the thread.

Thanks for the replies it is a mystery but as Geoff said we checked everything on them so don't understand why, I bought four from a forum member and the spare off a FF member, when I first put them on I had a blowout and put the spare on the back where it happened, so the spare is also one that does not fit as that's the one I swapped to the front, will have to get the one I am carrying as a spare now and try that as that's one of the original four I bought.
Will get some spacers but as said in the original post unsure 3 or 5mm as I am thinking about the v8 upgrade, I know LT you mentioned that even with the upgrade the still fit but the amount that was rubbing was a lot as Geoff can confirm, now has anyone got any spacers they don't want (cash waiting) or shall I just buy new.Goodyear Duratracs
