Recommended pressure 265/60R18

The old girl is being treated to some new shoes (and feet) next week.

I've treated her to some Compomotive 18"s and putting BIG AT KO2 265/60/18s on. Does anyone know recommended pressures for these?

What were LR's recommended pressures for factory fitted 18“ wheels?

Good question Jon.

I've just fitted 265/65R18 BFG AT to mine, what pressures do you guys recommend?

Haha....Looks like we've all just put this size on our beasts. I just did the same size in Bridgestone D697 LT's.

I have been looking for the idea pressure and have found lots of conflicting information. There is actually a formula that supposedly gives values that are pretty close.

PSI = (max tyre psi / tyre load rating) * actual load

This gave me 33psi front and 36 rear, bang on the placard. When I tried this over a few hundred km the steering felt heavy and economy was affected by about 1.5l per 100km.

I added 4 psi to the above for the return journey and it was much better for both steering feel and economy.

Be great to see other opinions.

Scott

psi? that is this, the 18th century? Rolling with laughter

Ok, so 37/40, so that's 2.6/2.8 bar

thanks! Thumbs Up

First I tried the standard unloaded car pressures 33/36. The wet road grip, road noise and wallow in the corners was horrible. So, I increased to the loaded car pressures 36/42 and they seem perfect, no more wallow or noise than the standard tyres and plenty of wet grip Thumbs Up

The tyres were fitted at 2.2 all around.

I put them up to 2.6 this morning, and wow, what a difference. Much better ride now and less tyre noise as well.

I will try them at 2.8 tomorrow to see the difference.
