The problem with them wiggs is the cable is only rated to 25A, If the socket is on a 32A supply then there is a chance the cable could be overloaded.
The other factor to consider is how the caravan has been wired, if it has a domestic style fuse board with a main switch or an RCD as a main switch you could overload the cable. To prevent more than 16A being drawn down the cable you would need a 16A RCBO as the main switch,

Wiggs nailed it with the sort of thing I was thinking of, I just didn't know if anything existed or what sort of rating I should be looking at.
Will stick up a pic of van fuseboard tomorrow.

The adaptor lead from a 32A plug to a 16A socket is no issue.
Most house ring mains are 30 Amp cabled but use 13 amp sockets.
The problem would be if it was 16A to 32A !!! Now that would be worrying.
The current set on most sites are 16A plug into a 16Amp socket. It makes no difference if this goes from a 32 Amp plug to a 16Amp plug socket first.

I wouldn't have any issues using it

It's protected at both ends .. unless Paul has a prehistoric caravan .. which I doubt Whistle

Correct a ring main is 32A but being a ring has two legs of 2.5mm rated at 25A each leg,
A radial circuit in a House would have a 20A MCB or a 25A MCB not a 32A
If the 32A to 16A lead was wired in 4mm H07 flex then it would be fine the only way it would meet BS7671 if wired in 2.5mm would be if the 32A socket was protected by a 25A or less MCB/RCBO.

Most fuse boards have a 100A main switch, some smaller ones 80A or 63A, This is the max rating it can switch as a isolator it is not a trip that would activate if a larger current is drawn.Hence on my earlier post I said the main switch of the caravans fuse board is the deciding factor along with the total current of the trips installed in the fuse board.

i.e if the fuse board has 2 x 16A and 2 x 6A Fuses/trips the total that could be drawn would =44A, If the main switch is 63A the 44A would be drawn down a cable that would burn out at 25A. The 16A socket would also struggle and weld to the 16A plug.

A RCBO is a combination of a thermal trip and a RCD this would activate if a larger than stated current was drawn or there was a earth leakage issue.
If using a 32A to 16A lead the Main switch needs to be a Double pole RCBO rated at no greater than 25A.

Great but what is the issue. Your point is with the down flow.

There is no problem with a 32Amp to 16 Amp converter as the recipient is a 16 amp connector, it could well be, and usually ( I assume) is connected to a 16 Amp plug, so no difference.

The issue you have is with the down status.

Therefore the 32A to 16A is not an issue.

If you have a beef with the wiring on the receipt of the 16A feed then that is a different issue! Not with the converter.

That is Correct most caravan hook up points are 16A so Caravan manufactures take it for granted your not going to plug into a supply that is not protected by a 16a fuse/breaker.
The adapter in question would allow this to happen that is why I am saying you need something in the caravan to protect the downsize from 32 to 16A else it would be possible to draw 32amp through the 16A socket

I am not saying the converter is not to be used, just pointing out that what plugs into it needs to ensure it can not draw more than the 16A.

We make and supply Converter leads 3phase and single phase and install caravan hook ups and it's surprising how many issues we get where people have overloaded such adapters not realising.
