FBH warm up complete?

I started the car this morning.

Was around -3°C at its worst.

Drove to work down motorway.
Temp gauge upto half way.

Got to work, switched off engine, FBH still bloody running Rolling with laughter
Shouldn't it have switched off a while ago Rolling Eyes

i have got blanked EGR's which I reckon slows down warm up times.

No,it's normal.

The engine is so efficient (yeah I know) but it is, so there is little residual heat to keep it at operating temp in the cold, that's the reason the Webasto was added, to keep the coolant temp up to optimal Thumbs Up

It should still be running until ignition off; then it should go through the shutdown/cool-down/sounds-like-a-jet-engine-winding-down process.

Its reduces its output after its warmed up initially, it continues to run at part load.

I've been monitoring mine recently with my controller, i programmed the status LED to differentiate part / full load.

As others have said, it runs a lot this time of the year, mine it almost always on.

It's the law of physics, put anything out in the cold without insulation it will get cold very quickly including yourself, anyone who can come up with a solution will become a millionaire very quickly.

My light still works and I find it useful to know the heater is working as it should.

Pete K: Blanking your radiator off with a piece of cardboard will help to warm the engine this time of the year, most London taxis do it Thumbs Up

Surprising what you can do with a soldering iron, and the lights on indicator works Thumbs Up

So how do you get the lights on indicator to work?
Is this a common fault?

Not something I'd recommend - Just because Taxis do it, doesn't mean its right for a D3 - the thermostat will do its job and keep the engine at the correct temperature - the FBH makes warmup quicker and that is how its designed. Technically, the FBH won't run if the heating in the cabin is turned off.
