Just been through the painful experience of renewing the wife's insurance for her D3. Last year we went with the AA who charged £552. This year their renewal said £793 to stay with existing insurer and cheapest they could find on the written quote was £637. We rang them to query the increase and on the phone they "found" a cheaper quote at £578 which they said was "rock bottom".
Still feeling this was too high we tried www.confused.com and after 10 minutes of inputing details had more than a dozen quotes ranging from £356 to £499. Have now selected the M&S policy which costs £368 (as that gets courtesy cars and legal cover and lower excess, protected NCB etc etc). Seems pretty good to me, particularly as the wife has 3 speeding convictions in the last 5 years
This Insurance mularky is a real black art and very unimpressed with the AA but delighted with the online system from "Confused". Disco 4 TDV6HSE

Should have tried NFU. Off road cover as standard, only £25 windscreen excess and they only take the last three years speeding into consideration. Both me & swmbohave 3 points each.
Me & SWMBO just over £250ish (can't remember exact amount, although I did post it somewhere......)
Inc £100 discount for having a tracker, but still 8)

NFU - I did notice that they weren't one of the companies that quoted via the Confused website (probably all too modern for NFU). I'll give them a try right now ..... Disco 4 TDV6HSE

With NFU, do you need to have a rural postcode?

that's a good price stoke, but they won't cover you off road.
CY, don't know as I've only ever asked for cover at my own address/........ Bodsys Brake Bible

Hmmm, anyone else clear that up?
They claim to be the number one 'rural insurers', so not sure what they'd think of city centre Edinburgh They do good 'youngster' insurance in Defenders though 2007 Porsche Boxster (987) 2.7
