retro fit HSE sat nav to a SE???? |
|
HI Guys
Does anybody know if you can retro fit a genuine LR sat nav system out of a HSE into a 2005 SE?
I dont know if the wiring loom is already there and it is just a case of plugging it in or not??
thanks

Not possible I'm afraid.
There is far too much integration that needs to be done at the ECU level.
While technically possible, it would cost way too much to achieve.

I know second post but don't be too hard on me ~
so the nav doesn't work as a plug and play but what about the 4x4 info screen ?? will it work with just a few components ??
my stealer and few others I've talked with swear that the 4x4 systems are virtually the same through the SE and HSE so ~ I would have to assume the sensor inputs are there already to the cpu but i'm not sure they are broadcast out to the info screen ~ but I would likely pay to get the parts if I knew i could get the info screen to work

The components are the easy bit - getting the engineering code to activate it from LR engineering at Gaydon is the hard bit... there is historically NO WAY they will issue the code for a specification change - not even the Autologic is currently capable of modifying the CCF in relation to the MOST bus configuration

Are we talking currently can't but I am going to crack it somehow - you got yr reputation to maintain m8
Is it possible to swap out my base audio/Radio single CD unit for a 6 disc unit from higher model? - only want to improve audio so not adding screen etc. Are connectors the same on the back of the unit to be able to do it?
Cheers

The connection to the amp is MOST bus so currently no..... and it's no use getting a head unit & amp from a donor vehicle as the head unit also has a CANbus interface and won't work without the correct security keys being broadcast
