The FBH doesn't warm by blowing warm air anywhere, least of all over the engine block.
It warms by heating the engine coolant. Mods:

That's the air inlet, the exhaust us underneath, come out of the wheel arch.
As said only heats water, so you need the kit that will remote run the fans to blow air like a D4 Altox GSM FBH controller thread

Probably not the best idea for a mod but to vent the FBH exhaust into the cabin might make you warmer, yet sadly, it'll also make you somewhat tired as the carbon monoxide quickly poisons you and your passengers.
This might be the first mod where you never come back on the forum to tell us how effective it was. Mods:

I reckon it can be done and someone will figure it out soon enough.
I think you need a pulse width modulator and some diodes, Ive done it on older cars with straight forward heater set ups.

Figure what out?? If you mean blowing in gases from the FBH then that would be nuts. If you mean using the heater matrix with the internal fans then clearly this can be done and there are many forum members with such a modification on their D3s and it was part of the D4 design.
I've modified a number of D3s/D4s to give them a functioning interior heater. I've not gassed anyone yet.

The ones you have in the ambulances have an 'Air to Air' heat exchanger, the Thermotop V in the Disco is an 'Air to Water' heat exchanger. Completely different bits of kit, but probably both made by Eberspacher.Richard

Forget the exhaust gas re-ducting idea, but there is a system called Danhag that will run the FBH and also run the fans in the cabin.
FBH still works as normal but the Danhag unit simultaneously allows heat into the cabin, presumably without killing anyone, which is probably what you're after.
Details are within the forum.Mods:
