Disco 3 Rear Lights Upgrade |
|
I currently run a Discovery 3 on a 2008 plate, and looking to upgrade the rear lights to new style Disco 4 leds ones.
I know that I'll need resistors fitted, but I'm getting rather confused with the vast amount available from different suppliers/makes/prices.
I usually buy genuine parts, and would like to upgrade also with genuine lights, (if Poss)
I've noticed these ones on eBay, one being Genuine Landrover, the other Valeo:
eBay: eBay Item No. 262549865133
eBay: eBay Item No. 291056616793
My confusion is are landrover Genuine lights made by Valeo?
Any advice would be very much appreciated.

I don't know who makes the LR ones
but Valeo certainly make original equipment lights for other manufactures, so unlikely to be cheap rubbish

Valeo are OEM on the front headlights of D4's .
i would suspect that they are also OEM on D3 front and rear too.
just take a rear light out to check. Andy.

I got mine (black) off ebay seperately they were sold as new £60 and £70 including delivery. Mind you I waited quite a while for the first one and was ready to pay a lot more for the matching one when it came up about 2 weeks later. Bought the resistors for a couple of quid and stuck them on and I'm no electrician.

I've had a look at the ones that are currently on, as suggested by Snowman, the only marking on the inside is a Land Rover logo.

Thats what i am doing at the moment, I have just bought the off side one for £55 delivered as it has a hair line crack in the reverse light reflector (not the lens) and I am now keeping an eye out for the nearside one at a decent price. When i get a pair and fit them I will have a red pair of D4 lights for sale The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
They just make the best of everything they have.

is this the place that most people are getting their upgrade light units from:
powerfuluk.com
£1k for lights front and rear seems a bit on the steep side.....
