Hi sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I've been on holiday. I would really appreciate you having a look at at the compressor and giving me some guidance. I live in Cheadle Hulme and can easily drive round to South Reddish.

gstuart: One other think. I'm sure he has a diagnostic device. Where does he get new software from? are these devices linked to the internet? Sorry for being naive?
when u go on onto the iid screen it will be there
to either update ur hitachi or amk compressor
if the latest software isn't on ur iid the guru is of course pat at iid
know when i updated to a dunlop i had to also replace the relay that came with it
hope that a helps a little
Hi thanks for that but are you saying I need a Diagnostic Device to see the iid screen? And who is Pat?

Well I have been onto Famous Four Products Ltd and they are sending me lower cover for the AMK compressor, not cheap but hopefully it will do the job.

Hi guys and thanks for all your help.
I have sorted my compressor problem. Yes the motor engineer had replaced the relay and the software when installing the new AMK compressor but he had cut he original Hitachi cover to fit and that's why it was so noisy. I bought a new cover from Famous Four for £65 including p&p. The man fitted it and now it is fine.
