Personally I would stick with the D3 version, the rear wiper switch is a pain on a D4Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Thanks for the quick replies - I needed the indicator side which arrived as the D4 model and didn't want to cause issues with the Disco.. I'll see about the wiper side - at the mo have an indicator stalk that has a life of its own thanks for the help.

Just wanted to say THANKYOU to all that replied.
I have finally a working indicator stalk (the old one had reversed the full beam) so I couldn't flash and the stalk was far forward to use...
D4 controls now in place and working well.
For others needing to change it -
Wait for car to go into 'sleep' e.g wait for the Handbrake light (P) to go out.
Use the steering wheel rake adjustment to pull the steering wheel as far forward and I found easier it being level.
Unbolt the 2x T25 Torx screws from the underside.
With care separate the top and bottom halves of the cover - between the dash and the wheel (the top simply then lifts off).
The bottom cover can be lowered over the ignition switch and stays out of the way.
Simply look at the stalk and there are 2 screws holding it in place. Remove and the stalk will remove with ease - Disconnect and connect the new stalk.
Re-fit in reverse and bingo (make sure someone assists checking the lights/indicators prior to rebuilding

Sorry for the seemingly obvious question but does the steering wheel need to come off for this?
