Confession time.
When I was a kid, mum and dad had a shop. To get from bedrooms to family areas meant going through the "stock room".
Robertson's trademark figure was, for many years, a loose cutout tucked in the top of the label on the rear of the jar.
Very easy to remove... I had DOZENS of them.
Worse, do you remember the "keys" on tins of corned beef? Funnily, very few customers ever complained their tin didn't have one.

Slow news day in Yorkshire it seems. The story is 2 years old judging by the dates in the article.
The chap needed to be more clever in his approach, frankly, as his choice was always going to get goats up. Shame, for him, that he wasn't devoutly religious - probably could have claimed a religious angle to get around it. Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Yes agreed he was sacked for tying to beat the system rather than work it.
The sending of an email explaining that non-biological based pronouns offended him because of his religious beliefs would of at least caused somebody a bit of a headache. Heaven doesn't want me, and hell is afraid I'll take over.

Or claim to identify as a dog with pronouns "good boy!"/"clever boy!".
Seriously, there are examples of people self-identifying as animals. Furries, I believe they're called. Or xenogender. I kid you not. Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

at the large, well known, automotive company I used to work at there was a 'push' to get people to put pronouns on email footers and all the hip young people followed the order accordingly.
I wasn't going to do it and was just happy to leave it 'as was' with my name and professional job title, I didn't feel the need for anything else.
This was deemed 'unacceptable' and repeat follow up emails were received pushing the narrative, team meetings had it as an agenda item and my director took me to one side to ask me to 'just comply' for an easy life.
I wasn't argumentative, I just said I wasn't doing it and given it wasn't (and couldn't be) an 'instruction' that was the end of it as far as I was concerned. It was still a regular topic and in the end I said if I had to have 'something' on my email footer I was going to use the identifier of "Bob the Zebra" if they 'insisted'....
It wasn't discussed any more after that......
I'm still called 'Bob' by many ex-colleagues

Cold Plastic!
Every year, I seem to forget just how impossible it is to do anything with anything made of plastic in winter. I also forget how many of these things we do daily involve bits of sliding nylon/plastic that lock solid when it is below about 5C. Silicone spray is great, but with the best will in the world, you just never get to all the bits of kit that need attention before winter! Previously:
2010 FL2 TD4e GS
‘93 Defender 110 200TDi CSW - still got this, non-runner on SORN.
‘87 Defender 90 4 cyl Petrol
‘83 110 CSW V8 - best ever!
Range Rover 2-door V8 (not sure of year - 4-speed box and vacuum diff switch)

Went to an Italian restaurant last night. They’d advertised a “an evening of music from Italian Crooners”. So here’s me thinking Perry Como, Al Martino, Dean Martin, etc etc. sounds nice and relaxing for me & SWMBO to have a nice night out.
Sure enough, the “crooner” turned up, but proceeded to belt out the songs at ear-wrecking volume. Not just loud, REALLY LOUD.
What’s wrong with today’s singers? Everywhere I go, if there’s a tribute act in a restaurant, it’s so loud conversation over a meal is impossible. Barbaric. I’m a Disco 4 believer. What a vehicle!

I blame the talent shows. It’s all you ever get on those.
No one wants to sing like Joni Mitchell anymore . Gary

Just like my neighbours who we have massive problems with but when they have their family over, it seems to be a competition to all talk over one another and who can shout the loudest. It does my head in! Cheers,
