And this morning we woke up to this. B@stards.
Surprisingly, the alarm didn't go off.
Luckily, I've managed to buy the last genuine BMW glass in the country which should be with us tomorrow morning.

It's Hermes I'm hacked off with, not JL - today's update was basically the same as yesterday - 'There'll be a slight delay' - basically, I reckon they've lost it or it's been nicked.
During lock down there was a Hermes van videoed by someone in the village. The blokes were opening packages and taking stuff out. Lots of reports on the village FB page about empty parcels or non-deliveries. Eventually the blokes were sacked I believe. Arrested and charged with theft would have seemed more appropriate to me.
All of the courier firms seem to have taken on staff to deal with the big increase in online sales. Done in a hurry that's going to let nefarious types in, isn't it?
O/H needed to hire a van to transport some shower boards to a delivery company to get them to Arran (idiots at suppliers had 2 shots at delivering to wrong address before we feared for the progress of the job and decided to deal with it ourselves...to hell with the expense and inconvenience) but trying to find a rental company with decent sized vans was like searching for the holy grail. All vans rented out to ‘delivery folk’ or folk who were uplifting rubbish to fly tip despite telling customers they were SEPA registered etc. Amount of fly tipping round our area is a disgrace.
For a moment, I thought it was the white van across your drive that had riled you! Anything taken?
They came onto your drive to do that but left alone your LR on the road?

Where the little white van and the RRS is parked is our driveway, Hugh. The road runs parallel to the one with the smashed window.
The little white van belongs to our window cleaner who turned up this morning and broke the news. For this very reason, we don't keep anything in the cars and nothing has been taken because there is nothing to take. It's just a bloody mess with smashed glass all over the baby seat.Kev

A rant to start but a very reasonable solution.......
Went online to change car insurance as phone lines closed to all but 'emergencies'. A lot more options now added to be done online (will become the 'new normal' I am sure).
However the number of the registration I want to add to my new car is not recognised. I took it off and had it on a retention certificate but is now on my new car and all documented but their access to the DVLA system (?) still recognises as on one of my motorbikes.
So clicked on the 'chat to us' button and was 'talking' to an online assistant. All going well but then having to answer questions over and over that he can see on the screen in front of him and I've already answered 2-3 times.
Tried to put it as simply as possible; This is my new car and this is the new registration, all done with DVLA, but your system still recognises that number as a motorbike so can you add it 'manually' to your system.
Yes they can, no problem. Then I get asked all the questions again about the car, drivers, history, etc. AGAIN.
Do all of that and "will be done in a minute sir" (been on to them 35 minutes now).
Wait......wait........wait. Eventually prod them and get a response saying will be transferred to finalise and I get another name come up. Get a "will be with you in a minute". Ten minutes later and subtly different 'updates' I decide I will insure the car on it's 'old' number (that is on their system) then do a change of details for the plate. That will cost me £20 more but 45 minutes have elapsed now.
Tell the assistant to forget it and get the same series of messages back. I've been routed to a bot by the first person......
End the call and get the 'satisfaction survey' to fill in
Said unacceptable service, felt like first assistant binned me as 'too difficult' for them and 45 minutes isn't great service, etc.
That was the end of it as far as I was concerned.
So 15 minutes later I get an email saying they have seen my survey comments and agree service was unsatisfactory so they had cancelled the £20 plate change charge as that was why I had engaged with them and also will send me £25 'compensation'.
I wasn't expecting, or asking, for that but do see the speed as 'good service' and the money a bonus.
more sloppy journalism … or should that be "more journalism sloppy" ?
yeah, I know it's proof-readers / editors at fault but this is basic stuff.

Seeing one of my old motorbikes for sale on an auction, one I regret selling if I'm honest. Still looking good (apart from the criminal flame stickers added to the tank and flanks and not keen on the aftermarket 'bars).
However 14 years on and its done less miles than when I sold it......
Asked the auction house if any claim on mileage, etc. but they said no paperwork and not verified. Pointed out I was previous owner and can confirm displayed mileage was higher than that shown when I sold it....
Not had an MOT on it since I sold it but can't believe modified and then never used it so likely new clock, wound back, what?
Bought "Collect only" goods on eBay, having checked that they were to be collected from Catherham a 125 mile round trip.
Having paid the vendor he says the goods are just outside Brands Hatch a 160 mile round trip

Grammar makes all the difference. Yesterday, I heard Ken Bruce read out a dedication: "...to my brother-in-law, Bob - the best brother to roger my husband"; I think the listener meant "...to my brother-in-law, Bob - the best brother to my husband, Roger
