Happiness is a V8
For 2 years I was on the look out for a low mileage well looked after D3 V8 HSE. I almost gave up, I looked at getting a D4 8 speed, even though I am doing less than 5k a year. Just as I was about to pull the trigger on a Aintree Green D4, I found a low mileage D3 V8 at a fairly local dealers.
A phone call revealed that someone had beaten to me and put a deposit down on it blind, as the dealer had not put up any pictures. I was promised a call if the sale didn't go ahead. Next day dealer rings and tells me it's available as the buyer didn't like the colour of the interior.
I went that afternoon and this 1 owner Bonatti Grey V8 HSE with just 53k on the clock in totally stock condition beckoned me to become her new owner.
The dealer was really helpful and even gave me the option to swap the interior over to black if I wanted. I put down a deposit and agreed to pick it up as soon as the dealer had sorted a few issues.
Today I picked her up
I already had a set of D4 rear lights and a grill - only got the rear lights fitted before it rained, so grill tomorrow.
Loving the smooth V8
The dealer fitted the 'DISCOVERY' lettering, said if I wanted it back to stock just to give them a call

Do the v8 petrols have egr?
I ask as both mine and the wifes old v6/8 petrol cars had egr.
I know that feeling I have only had mine for less than a week now , not as low miles as yours but still under 100k . I have totally fallen for her . Such a great ride and smooth as glass.D3 V8 SE LPG

Good find with that mileage.
I gave up looking in the end. I only found one with a suitable mileage but didn't like the colour
Owned many a RR with a V8 and it will certainly get you smiling when you press the 'Go' peddle. Also if you're not covering the mileage the MPG doesn't get too tiresome. Good luck Discovery 4 HSE

Yes, they are. Just make sure you have resistors fitted to them,or the indicator on the dash goes at double speed. Lots for sale - just buy OEM / Valeo

Luck must have been on my side, as I was 12 hours away from a D4. I didn't want black, as had too many black cars. Wasn't keen on Tonga, would have had a silver or red, not that I have ever seen a red D3 V8. Bonatti is one of those colours that doesn't require huge effort to look good.

Have had my silver D4 since September and it's just getting to a light silvery grey. I wonder what shade it'll get to by the time it gets washed after the service in May.
