What's the highest amount of km's on a Disco?

With over 1,000,000 disco's on the road and the D3 launched well over 12 years ago

I am wondering? what is the highest amount of kms on a discovery? And if any large amounts of money needed to be spent to reach that total (outside of normal wear and tear ie EGR valves, suspension bushes)

Probably increased since too. And they're in miles, so you'll have to do the conversion.

We purchased our D3 HSE in 2005. Has now done 459k with a TDV6 replacement at 450k when end crankshaft bearing gave it away. Replacement engine and gearbox from TRS in Adelaide. Saw a similar spec car, rebuilt with engine from TRS advertised by a member of our club, so have bought that as our 'second' vehicle. It had 240k before seizing the engine halfway along a round Oz trip.
These have both done more miles than the series IIb f/c or the 92 classic Rangie! Laughing

Hi Millsy, our current machine had both engine and transmission from TRS for a cost of $10k landed in Romsey, whereas the 'new' D3 had an engine only, landed in Melbourne for $5k. The typical workshop fee for installion is approx $5k, as quoted by 3 different sets of people. Very happy to see that TRS insist on not only fitting both timing belts, but exchanging the plastic covers for aluminium ones. I visited them about 3 years ago and was hugely impressed by there whole operation.

That's quite affordable price.

My 2006 D3 TDV6, which I have had for exactly four years, has clocked just over 535,000km. It's a credit to the two previous owners who looked after it so well, and I am tryihg to do the same. I'm sure there are a few more D3's with higher mileage out there.

I see you've found the "max miles" thread. Laughing

Somehow I think Character will win this event.

Well that's interesting. Was just at a carshow in Perth and got to talking with a Series III owner. Last year while traveling through country Victoria, he ran into a guy who owned a D3 that had well over 1 million km's on it. That's impressive!
