D3 - 13 pin upgrade - land rover or oem Britpart?
Having just acquired a TA bailey senator I'm looking to upgrade the D3s 12n only electrics to 13 pin to save on adaptor and make full use of Alko atc and fridge etc.
Prices seem to vary wildly but mainly due to original part or britpart. Is there much difference in quality or fit?

The original part is made to a very high standard with quality parts and fully potted connections. It would be hard to recommend anything else as (for once) JLR got this one right. I am never keen to pay LR parts prices unless needed, but I do for tow electrics.

Thanks can anyone confirm that YWJ500160 is the part number for D3 and RRS as only listed as Rrs in a few places?
edit: should be YWJ500211

jake i had.
my indy fit mine and he had a bit of a hard time as apparently had to
remove the rear bumper as a mounting plate is required for the 13 pin
just been out checking my van hooks up ok and its a lot more fiddly than the old 2 plug set up as new 13 pin is push and twist and theres not a lot of finger room as new plug mounted on right of recess and plug twists to the right
just discovered my on board charger has died aswell over the winter so not a good day MY05 SE D3 Manual my first LR what a car

My 13 pin socket was factory fitted and it's a D4 not a D3 so don't know about a mounting plate.
Never have a problem connecting up the 13 pin plug - hinge of the socket is at 9 o'clock and the plug is rotated anti-clockwise before inserting in the socket, with the tongue on the plug at the 6 o'clock postion; a quick turn of the plug clockwise to 9 o'clock and the hinge then snaps over the tongue.
Picture might help. You can enlarge it if you visit my gallery.

and you dont have to remove the bumper on D3 or D4 to fit towing electrics. You do if you want to fit the "plate" LR supply but it isnt actually needed, so dont bother with it and fitting is much easier

wrong part number
should be ordering YWJ500211, the last post from TLO he was doing them for £98, a few years back now but current price is looking more like £200
do we still have a contact a Yeovil?
edit:
my local dealer has now confirmed current price for him to order in from land rover is £220.21. He would do 10% discount but that's still £198....
Britpart it is then

The problem is land rover themselves have set the retail price so the dealers have to charge more

the muppets have fitted mine 180 degrees out as my flap hinge is on the right not left as yours
hence the fouling as my plug twists right
if its and easy swap round i will do it myself but think this could be going back to them for sortingMY05 SE D3 Manual my first LR what a car

Here's a couple of cheaper sources. They might be mickey mouse suppliers so best to ring and confirm stock, and whether they are genuine LR parts.
