As Land Rover are making so much profit from the D5, they are trying out a new shift pattern

I had a Friday build date as well, but it turns out that they are not all built on a Friday... I was told that they can be built on any day in the week ending that Friday - I went on a factory tour on Wednesday and there were plenty being built, probably 1 in 3 vehicles coming off the line that I saw.

Maybe the build slots start on a Friday even though it might not actually be built until sometime during the following week.

If yours is built on the same day as my Range Rover, 10th, then if your dealer is any good, it will be ready and issued in a week, mine will be Mike

Yeah, they're usually pretty good at getting cars PDI'd and out within a week. 23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Sometimes I wonder with some dealers if they even look at the car at all. 23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Agreed...I dont think they do, even if they are fitting things.
All my D4's had something from the PDI check or the jlr pdi requirements (eg something not done at build) not done by the dealer...i make a bit of a joke with them every time. Mike

It still takes about 6 to 8 weeks to process from build then to Gaydon then onto the dealers.
Transportation issues are abound as well, lots of new March 1st vehicles going out from Gaydon not just D5's In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Im quite looking forward to it actually When I got my first D3 in 2004 there were loads of issues. They all got sorted dealer and Land Rover were great obviously. Bizarrely it felt like I was part of the on going development. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
