And here's the link tot he lights I purchased, had them a couple of years now (I have 4 in total) I added a 12v car socket at the end of each one, so they plug into by 2nd battery and also used with the camping trailer

thank u so much
was thinking of some different ideas
maybe fixing them on the inside at the top of the door, so when i dry the dogs off, camping etc, got some lights pointing down towards the floor etc
or fixing a bar across and mounting lights on there, utilising the rear 12 volt supply with a switch
alas though doesnt power with the key out
but then was thinking if i do a split charge system can wire them up to the aux battery , which i see you've done
