Recently had a prang...

The insurers have left me with a RR Vogue SE with the TDV8.

What a fantastic engine! Even though I've had my Disco chipped, I can't see how I'm going to enjoy driving it after this.

So do I.

Failing that, the TDV8 drop to 45K second hand. Maybe in the March trade in round.

After driving the Vogue for a few days, I'm not over impressed.

I was expecting to have to buy one, but I'm not sure it's that much better than a D3. The D3 has a smoother, quieter ride and corners better. The RR felt like it was about to topple a couple of times. And, the wind noise at speed is no better then the D3.

The TDV8 is superb, but that on it's own isn't enough to buy one.

Slip the TDV8 into the D3 is what I say.

Hampstead, I agree wih you. For the extra £25K+ I expected a better ride than the D3, not a worse one. The TDV8 was simply gorgeous, but combined with the body roll I started to get a little paranoid about even half-spirited corners. The D3 feels like it has heavy duty anti-roll bars in comparison.

Although the interior materials and construction quality of the Vogue appeared heaps better, I really did look forwards to getting my D3 back.

Transgenic tomato anyone?
