How much grease in driveshaft boot?
Can somebody tell me how much CV bearing grease to put in the inner driveshaft boot?
While replacing front suspension parts (control arms, arb bushes, droplinks, etc.), I hyperextended the driveshaft, pulling the inner CV bearings out of the inner housing.
I first attempted to remove the entire drive shaft, but it didn't pull out easily, and having read some threads on here about seized splines, I popped the clip holding the large boot over the housing. I found the inner CV bearing (the one with the 3 feet) 1/3 out of the housing, so it came out easy.
I pulled the shaft out of the inner CV housing - well more like caught it when I released the boot. Here's what I've removed.
There isn't any damage. The boot and bearings are fine. So I just want to clean the inner bearings and housing, repack with grease, and seal it up.
I've read great write-ups about how to replace the driveshaft boots, but they all come with pre-packaged grease packs. So I just need to know how much of the (lithium-based) grease to pack into the inner CV bearing. I know I tend to over-do this sort of thing, so it would be good to get an idea of how much to put in there.
Ready to pack:

Not very high tech but i would say a good splodge on each roller will be fine.

I was able to pack in approx 12 oz., so we now know that a "splodge" = 4 oz.
I don't know what the "block of wood ..." trick is about, and I'm sure it wasn't Robbie's reference, but I spent a good part of last Saturday trying to remove a single, stupid nut holding the lhs arb collar. Ended up with a makeshift block wood to support the front diff and another block of wood to wedge to diff support to allow enough room to fit a socket.

I was referring to the block that appears to be propping up the other side of your vehicle:
