Removable towbar problem
Hi Guys,
I know this has been probably done to death, just cannot find answer to my problem.
Bought car 3 days ago and as many cannot find the keys to towbar. So I ordered set by code on face of lock - not from LD. Now I can turn the lock, but cannot pul the green plastic far enough so I can turn it to remowe towbar. Anyone know whats the problem?
Thank you.
I for sure will have more daft questios later

If you can turn the key then the rest should be easy as it's usually the key that's seized.
It's either push in and turn or pull out - can't remember but once it turned it will lock and the ball drops out depending on rust situation of course!Stew,

Yes it's what i'm reading everywhere.......I pull out the green plastic, but not enouhg to clear the red plastic so I cannot turn it. The keys for roof crossbars worked well, so 50% success...not bad

I'll bet the key is not in 100%...they are if the towbar lock isn't lubed with WD40 or similar.
If you can't turn it then it isn't in properly.
Happened to me when I first tried my brand new detachable towbar. Once I got the hang of it then no problems.
Keep going and try again...
