anyone recommend a good place to stay ,which is a good location for walks , pubs etc

Castleton is fine bit of a honey pot in the busy times but plenty of pubs with some decent walks

Four Seasons is one where I have put visitors in before and it has a decent rating. Also ramblers rest is ok. I would probably go for four seasons though. Book early as it gets busy at weekends.
