Slab Common Pay & play day 12/03/2017

Hants & Berks Land Rover Owners are hosting a Pay & play day on Sunday 12th March 2017.

'Slab Common offers a wide variety of terrain to suit all levels of off road ability.

A perfect introduction to off roading for novice drivers through to some more tricky bits for the more experienced driver.

£25 gets you entry to the venue and all the off roading you can handle!
If you are not a member of an MSA affiliated 4x4 club you will need to join ours this can be done on the day for an additional fee of £5

The event is open to all types/makes of road legal 4x4 vehicles up to a max gross weight of 3.5 tonnes (sorry no quads). A recovery point on the rear of your vehicle is a must (a tow bar is sufficient) and a front recovery point is helpful but not a requirement.

We will also be holding an RTV and Tyro. Catering and toilet facilities are available.'

For those that have not been, Slab Common is mainly sand rather than mud, and has a large area to explore.
(Remap, EGRs Blanked,Silicon I/C hose) from BAS, (Torque Convertor, Compressor, FL Wishbones, Alternator) by WD, Belts by Newbury4x4, Megaflush+extra cooler by GRGB, Diff+Transfer oils, ARB Bushes, Fuel filter, Fixed Towbar, Remote FBH.

Slab Common is fantastic. Has some very safe off roading if you dont want to damage your car, and has some good mud holes if that's your thing!

I haven't been for a while, but if I was nearer I would for £25. Good day out. Thumbs Up

Only a week to go now, any more interest from anyone?

I will (battery permitting) be there to help with the P&P team.

One of the first proper sites where I went wheeling with my old Jeep XJ, maybe around 2001 I'd say. Great site.

It was great fun on the times I went there, as was nearby Broxhead Common but I remember that I dinged one of my control arm bolts on a big slab of concrete that was hiding under about 2mm of mud. I was lucky that was all if did.

Underbody protection didn't help as the concrete seemed to take evasive action and targeted my soft-spots...

Missed this time around, I will be up for the next one though.

There was a good turn out from all sorts of 4x4s from a Daihatsu Terios to Disco 3 & 4 via JEEP, Nissan, Suzuki etc.

The next HBRO one is in October.

Not the normal demographic, however this group of families seemed to enjoy themselves.
