Long shot. Info urgently required- Wild Camping nr St Andrew
Evening all, just had this dropped on me & am after some help.
Friend turns 50 this week & his FPO has hired a camper an to do a uk tour.
He plays golf & FPO has booked him in at St Andrews, she's hoping to find the idyllic wild camping spot as close as possible.
Not an area I'm familiar with, can any of you guys help.
Failing wild camp a good site for them to aim for would be helpful.
Many thanks.Paul.

There's no wild camping. Try St. Andrews Holiday Park, Kinkell Braes, St. Andrews. It just out of town on the Crail road. It's got a great view out to sea.
If they are members (or join) Camping and Caravan Club the five van site at Duncarro Farm will meet their expectations. As its right up a hill it can be quite "wild"!A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

Paul,
Tell them to park up on the west sands, can't get much closer than that to the old course, and sleep in the van, will have a look today at what the signs say regarding overnight parking( camping ) etc
Cairnsmill camp site overlooks the town, or as said Kinkell brakes camp site. Don't see why you can't wild camp around St Andrews area though, local knowledge would know of a few places. D3 57 xs Stornaway grey

There's plenty other areas close by where you can camp.
Was along there this morning and new signs are in place about overnight parking etc
Let me know if they need any help Paul as I'm only about 10 minutes from town D3 57 xs Stornaway grey

I stayed up there about a month ago for a night in the Disco, I was overlooking the castle and beach on a street called East Scores.
Great nights sleep and woke up to the sound of waves crashing on the shore and the castle out the front window. I'd go there again if I am back up that way.
