Tilting Bike Carrier
Hi folks I need to carry 3 bikes on my D3, anyone got any recommendations on a towbar tilting bike rack, as I still need access to boot to allow dog in and out with bikes still attached.

We have the 2 bike version on the Atera Strada Evo, but they do 3 and 4 versions. It wasn't cheap at £400+ and is rather heavy, but very well made and good quality.
The tilt is sufficient to allow for both parts of the tailgate to open. Just be careful returning the rack to the correct position if you have a bike with wide handlebars as you could potentially hit the rear window!Andy

I've got a Thule. Easy to use. Both halves of the door can be opened after tilting the carrier

I have a Thule 972, three bike rack that folds down.
I am concerned with the idea of a dog coming in or out of the boot, unless manhandling the dog is a practical option. Simply because the bikes will present real risks of breaking a dog's leg if it jumps out or inhibiting the dog jumping in.
Otherwise, it is an excellent solid bit of kit. I have carried three adult 700 wheel hybrids on mine, though more typically two. Three bikes, because of the combined weight takes a bit of strength to fold down & lift back up, I can do it but my wife I am sure could not.

I bought an Atera Strada DL for 4 bikes (3+ an adaptor) last week. Haven't used it in anger yet but really impressed with the build, fit and design... and it was a bit cheaper than the Thule equivalent.
Certainly looks like one of those products that does what you need it to do in a capable and efficient way, without any noticeable compromises.
I bought from roofbox.co.uk and paid £370 for a 'returned unused' one. Quite happy with that price

+1 for Buzz Rack.
Mine carries x4 and is easy to attach/remove as well as tilt. Maybe a bit heavy as mentioned above but certainly good value when compared against others
