The whine has gone, happy days

The old girl developed a whine at 50mph a few weeks ago that has got steadily worse and louder so I decided to change both front hubs, so I started with the nearside that I suspected was giving the whine, I did the usual tests but it seemed rock solid so removed everything ready for a fight to get the old hub off but happily the old hub had been put on with some copper slip and it just came off, I spun it and it sounded very dry, new hub on and now all is quiet again, may do the drivers side just to be safe all in all 1hr well spent.

And I got the other sister, although she does keep a watchful eye on D3 spend, proper maintenance and repair is no problem, but a prospeed rack - why do we need one of those?
