Disco 3 - pre-purchase questions
Hi everyone!
This is my first post over here. I'm hoping to buy a Disco 3 in the following few months (currently own a Freelander for almost 8 years and plan on keeping it), but I have a quite important question that I did not find the answer to so far: If I get a more basic version with 5 seats (60/40 split), will the second row fold flat into the floor as it does in the 7 seat version, i.e. as in the first attached photo? Or will the base of the seats remain upright as in the second photo?
This information is quite important for me, as I would need all seats to fold perfectly in the floor so I can ocassionally sleep in the back (I'm 6 ft). 7 seats are not a must for me, but if the 5 seat version doesn't fold perfectly flat, I'll be looking only at 7 seaters...
Thank you in advance for your answers!

I may be wrong but the second picture showing the 5 seat variant the seats are as low as they go and look to create a flat load area only difference looking at the picture is that the seat squabs fold forwards towards the front seats and the backs fold down flatRange Rover Westminster 4.4 TDV8 what a car

They all do as per your first photo. They fold to make a completely flat load area. The only difference is two seats in boot area, or carpeted panels in the 5 seater.

IIRC , the 60:40 and the 35:30:35 seats fold differently
First pic is a D4, second a D3, but it's down to second row seat configuration , get a 35:30:35Altox GSM FBH controller thread

NO, only is a D3 with 5 seats...
In the 5-seater the bench falls against the front seat and the backrest is flush with the load area, instead in the 7-seater the seat sinks on the floor and the backrest is flush with the load area equally but in this case the The bench is not visible because it is hidden under the backrest. In both cases the load area is perfectly flat, the advantage of the 5-seater is that as the sidewalks do not sink there is a space always free under the bench that is used as a closet and carries many things, the disadvantage is that the bench supported Against the front seat back a little bit of space to the load area. But I repeat in both cases the load area is completely flat. lost in translation!

Having owned both, they are exactly as the photos. Both fold flat but the seat base takes up valuable space on the 5 seat version so you will need the extra length of the 7 seater to sleep in it comfortably. I have slept in the 7 seater and an airbed fits nicely.Stu

In the USA the very base model non SE D3 4.0 V6 2nd row does not fold fully flat. All SE D3's 5 seaters & 7 seaters V6's or V8's 2nd row folds fully flat.

This is how the seats fold in the original RRS too - it's a 5 seater too so presumably uses the same seat bases as the 5 seat D3.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Hi Alex,
Are you alex_pescaru from the Freel2 world?
I've also just recently upgraded from a Freelander 2 to the Disco 4 and can safely say you will love every minute of it.

Thanks! Didn't think to check that.
I'm also now only learning that you can get a commercial variant of the Disco over there. That'd make an awesome camper-van.

Thanks, everyone for your help!
Maybe I didn't express myself perfectly. I knew that the seats fold flat on all variants, but the basic (60:40 split) 5 seater looses a lot of space by the fact that the seat bases do not fold and remain vertical behind the front seats. I will thus be looking for a 7 seater, preferably.
@douglash, no I'm not. I actually have a Freelander 1 (2003 Td4) which I'll be keeping after buying the Disco (hope I can afford keeping 2 old LRs running ) ).
