Front Brake Upgrade

OK, so I need new pads and discs on the front on my beloved and wanted to hear peoples opinion on the V8 upgrade please
Does it really justify the additional £100?
Please help me decide

£100 for better brakes on a 2.7t vehicle is £100 well spent. I upgraded with Delphi disks and pads on the front, brembos on the rear and there was only a small improvement. So I put EBC Greenstuff pads on the front and they made a huge difference. Finally happy with the brakes now. I have a set of yellowstuff pads to go on next.

If you are upgrading you need pads (V8 are the same pads as TDV6 - so same price) V8 discs, again, same price as TDV6, and a set of caliper carrier brackets, which if yoy search ebay can be picked up cheap (ish)

One here for 20 quid:

so fo something around 50quid over just replacing with TDV6 discs and pads gets you the better V8 setup

Oh, and you cant run 17" alloys if you have the V8 brakes. Just in case you have these.

OK, I was comparing the Advanced Factors prices for standard vs V8 upgrade and the difference is around the £100 mark
I accept that spending cash on the brakes is a good thing but didn't want to spend the extra if the gains are negligible but if the greenstuff pads give a good improvement then perhaps thats the way to go
Thanks both, appreciate your comments

I bought the V8 kit from AF, opting for the TRW D-Tec pads. I wasn't that impressed with pads even after bedding in they felt soft... Swapped them for Yellow Stuff pads and much better, nice smooth bite and when you really need them they STOP!
The Yellow Stuff pads give low dust and are the SUV/Truck version for the Disco application Thumbs Up

I think these carriers are for the rear discs.

Well I've ordered the V8 upgrade from Advanced Factors and if it's no good I'll throw some better pads in at a later date
Car is undriveable at the moment so anything will be an improvement

Irwin how long have you had the Greenstuff fitted on the front? i ask as my fronts are now on 10k and theres 2 mm of pad left above the wear mark which is a bit poor but on the plus side I do like the fact the wheels dont need cleaning.
