New Keyfob Urgently Required |
|
Hi Folks,
Looking to get a new key fob as I only have the one and it looks like an aftermarket one at that.
I only got the one key when I bought the car.
Had a quick look on the bay, and looks like prices vary wildly, just wanted to check if anyone had any recommendations ?
Thanks,
Stephen.

HI
I had one key replaced by Land Rover as the internals were knackered but the second I bought an empty case from ebay and took the blade out of the old one into the new replacement.
The replacement from LR was a chore as the first had a faulty transmitter @£170.00 it needs to be correct. A second was ordered and was programmed without problem.
But I found the quality of the OEM fob from LR felt cheaper than the replacement. I paid £3.89 + £1.09 for postage.
I also bought a silicone cover to protect from any more drops for about £5.00. also easy to find if bright Orange. Mine has the Green Land Rover Oval Logo.
I also bought a Pink one but this does not have the Green Logo.

if the transmitter is fine replacing the battery is easy but to get the key fob open requires a sharp knife and some force, very well stuck down.
I found a clip on Youtube to help.

The Chinese one didn't work for me. I have it on my desk in front of me.
