| AND NOW PLEASE....HELP with my summer travel to IRELAND!! |

 only to say that I don´t know the country at all and I'll ferry Rosslare from Cherbourg France at the end of June (I already bought my ticket) and will be there for 15 days. Ideas that is what I can not stop visiting and in what I do not have to waste my time would be welcomed  ... even a circular route advised walking around a little everything would be perfect to start looking for information on my own.

don't try to do too much and enjoy yourself.
I would try Galway and Mayo very much linked to spain and France.
It's a great place to go

Anti clockwise....
Stay in Rosslaire at least a while to watch the ferries....that's all there is there
Drive & explore the coast up the Wiclklow mountains...
Plan to stop explore Dublin at least 3 days....enjoy yourself drink plenty stout & visit the brewery.
Then drive to & stop in Drogheda....See Newgrage, Battle of the Boyle area.
Drive north & from Dundalk into the Mourne area....stay in Newcastle ....maybe climb a mountain or two.
Drive to Belfast through Castlewellan route (not the main road) Co Down at its very best.
Belfast at least two whole days....Titanic museum a must....sample the night life
Carrickfergus next to get to the coastal road...around Antrim. Aim for Busmills & the Giants Causeway visit both. Sample some real Whiskey.
Drive through Derry....1/2 day see the city walls
Drive to Letterkenny....plan a drive around the county...drive the Atlantic Drive....
When you get to Donegal town explore the triangular square.
Next Sligo .....drive around Ben Bulbben....a unique shaped hill.
Next Galway....the gem of the west coast.
Plan your route to drive the coast....cliffs of mother, the Burren
Plan to stay in Limerick to venture west to drive the ring of Kerry
If you've time to look west Cork....Mizzen Head, Skibbereen, Barley Cove......place for a beach holiday.
Drive east to Cork....stay at least 1 night...it has atmosphere...
From there your a short drive to Rosslaire...
At any point you could stay longer.
At any point you are no more than 5-6 hours away from Rosslaire
All Ireland is safe, very freindly, realistic cost, low stress, fantastic scenery. BREXIT - done properly.

When and if you drive the ring of Kerry Killarney is a must nice walking in Muckross house
Follow the wild Atlantic way can't go wrong
Best camping is on the west coast
Walking in Dublin mountains look for the Wicklow way

can second the good comments on West coast, Galway and Dublin.
One thing we found when driving over last year was to allow more time between destinations than you may think - the countryside is beautiful but the roads are very slow! Not such a Disco Newbie now!

Funnily enough,
I was thinking of doing similar towards the end of June.
My only criteria is I'm going to be in Dunquin ( Dingle ) for a few days as it'll be a mates birthday and they're renting a house so a definite stopover.
I was thinking for myself, ferry to Belfast and head down towards Dublin then carry on to wherever I fancy. No routes or stops planned, just see what the mood takes.
Been seen done a lot of Ireland over the years but it's always fun to do again.
Another mini run I fancy is the coast to coast ( Whitehaven to Robin hoods bay ) D3 57 xs Stornaway grey
D2 02 commercial silver gone but a great servant and won't be forgotten

I can't argue with any post here, except to say don't miss out Mayo when going from Sligo to galway. I may be biased, but it's one of the nicest counties.

 great! We both have good sense! So if you see a D3 tonga green with Spanish plaque and steering wheel in the right place do not forget to give it your burst of lights or invite it to a pint!!

Thanks for your advice Sean !! Although Dublin is already late because I have already bought the accommodation!! ... nevertheless it seems a must visit for me lost in translation!

if you've a car full of kids in a city - not much to do except maybe Pheonix Park Zoo - like any other zoo
if you've adults & haven't see the place - some nice shopping, excellent feeding stations - good night life
Some historical spots if you into the last 100 years history.
It helps when you know the city - I live & worked there so can perambulate my way around. Easily.
if you haven't been there before its all about exploring

I would try to fit Achill Island and Westport in whilst on the West Coast. The former for the scenery, and the latter for food.
I have family round Drogheda so know that area well. Many small villages with pubs.
And maybe whilst in the area, visit Ireland's only theme park -Tayto Park?  it actually has the best wooden rollercoaster I have ever been on.

We followed the Wild Atlantic Way from Limerick, northwards. The further north you get, the better it is. Down south it's mildly annoyed, but up north it's very angry!
There are a few tourist traps. The cliffs of Moher for example, were very crowded, expensive to park, and if you go just past them and turn left down to the coast, you get a great view for free!
Drive out to Cleggan, beyond Galway, on the very tip of the peninsula, just west of the Conemarra national park. There you will not only find the beach road to Omey Island, but also the Sky road. It is so peaceful around there. I would have loved to take more time to soak it up.
While your there, drive through the Connemara national park. It is stunning.
Near Donegal, there is Malin Beg. Again, it is spectacular for its scenery and wild sea, big cliffs, and wildlife.
Of course there will be much more, but wherever you end up, make sure you post your own road trip thread
