Cooper ST off-road performance
Anyone give me their experiences of Cooper ST tyres on and off-road please? A lot cheaper than BFG and thinking about putting them on, need to be capable in the mud as well as good on tarmac.2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

Hi,
Been running my 17" Cooper ST's for almost 12,000Km now (since July this year). 1/3 was spent off-road rest used to commute and travel.
Somewhere on the Africa link I put some initial results down.
Longer term I can report:
On road not as good as the Wranglers, bit noisier, but hey even at 140Km/h they do the job well!!
I cannot fault them on-road!
Off-road - awesome... just no pains here and can highly recommend.
If I had to choose between Cooper ST and STT next time I will go STT - reason - the ST version vs ST-C version has a tendency to have rubber pieces breaking off. Have 3 spots where this has happened.
If you cannot get the ST-C version go for the STT one or the BFG's. My 02.c worth.
Now the good and the bad:
The good:
Better AT than most out there
Good road handling
Excellent off-road tyre - even at low pressures.
The bad:
bit noisy
Would recommend new compound (ST-C) due to breaking of rubber knobblies
Overall - satisfied - good millage tyre too.
