Mine is also due at the same time as yours and have the same squeaky wipers. I also would like to know how long the service will take, and also if anyone knows a good dealer in the Suffolk/ Norfolk area. Many thanks

It seems LR policy is not to replace the squeeky juddering noisy blades but to supply you with a plastic bottle of ' Land Rover Screen Clean Paste ' 125ml. [DNJ 500340] It's a thinnish white liquid (labelled TOXIC and INFLAMMABLE) that you apply to the screen, let dry and wipe off. I used it on my rear screen and it did make a difference, although I haven't had a dry enough day to apply it to the front screen yet.
Depending where you go for the service you will probably get this; however, if you're very lucky, you may get the blades replaced with the new ones [DKC 500230].

Over here in Greece the first service (at the 12K km) costs approx. 100 UK pounds (change of oil & filter), unless you go for the "full" first service (which is recommended by one dealer at the 10K km mark) and includes the above plus replacement of diesel filter and cabin filter and goes up to 200 pounds...
Now you ask why there are two approaches??? Whats what i ask for myself.....

I was quoted £100 less at Yeovil than my local so I'm off on a nice drive next week ( Nick and co! )
Managed to get myself 8L of Castrol Edge 0-30 TurboDiesel oil for a bargain off eBay too Dr. Ian Malcolm:

Transgenic tomato anyone?

Site Sponsors LLR gave a great price, as did "Man of Parts" at Yeovil. Mileage from me is pretty much equidistant..... Who do I choose....?
I think both have a great reputation, so will depend if I want a day in the lakes or a day down s'arf! in January!

I found my bit of paper for all my quotes from the dealers nearest to me in Swindon. I've not included dealer names as these were my quotes on the day and they may have changed their prices, but hopefully it gives an idea of the range of charges.
I was quoted these on the basis that I would provide my own oil, so factor that in. I think that in some cases that didn't make much of a difference to the quote, whereas in a couple of other cases they told me it would save £50 or £100
Prices are inclusive of VAT
£237.70
£240
£250
£285
£335
My local dealer was the most expensive, and they weren't willing to negotiate from their fixed price, even when I told them they were £100 over the odds... Dr. Ian Malcolm:

I have had a quote of £299ish from Shukers (Shrewsbury). Have had all my D2's and the wife's Freelander serviced there with no problems. I have two dealers closer but prefer Shukers.

Had mine serviced today. Stratstone Milton Keynes. After some negotation, £283.33 inc VAT. That would have included a courtesy car, had I wanted one. If you never try, you'll never know...
