Hi Gilly1. I have just bought an 2015 SE Tech and agree that they can be a bit basic. Having had the Landrover ownership experience a couple of times before i was keen to avoid any sun-roofs so the SE-T was perfect for me.
I live extremely close to you and the Taunton Dealer but decided ultimately to buy from Matford in Exeter. I just found the experience (and price) to be a bit sharper.
I have to agree that the camera on the back is extremely useful, I wouldn't want to be without it.
Personally I absolutely love the white (and i have owned many) but i find that the Somerset flies love it even more! A real pain to keep clean. I chose Montalcino Red with the Black pack, just to be different.

Hi SJT. Did your se tech come with rear camera or have you added it since purchase, I also have taken a shine to the white it's just a shame the spec isn't wowing me. Meaning I have my own battle going on
1) colour I want but spec could be better
2) not first choice colour but more extras
Will Land Rover have a car delivered to local dealer if find alternative at different location.

Hi Gilly ,
In a similar position to you looking at a couple of D4'S last week , wanted the SE Tech with rear cam if possible , close look and test drive on 2015 and 2016 models .
The 2015 had a rear cam and Almond interior 16K miles , 2016 no rear cam blk interior and 8000 miles , we decided to put a deposit on the newer car ( it appears to be well looked after ) and was with a dealer who we are happy with after 3 previous cars from them .
Car looks bit bare after having previous ones with privacy/tints so we are having that done prior to collection .
Managed to get bodyside mouldings & mudflaps fitted as part of the deal .
After market reversing cameras are around £350 plus fitting , may look at that but we will see how we get on without one first .
Here is ours at the dealers

Mine came with the camera as an option although I believe retro-fit is possible.
I'm not sure about general movement of vehicles between dealers although here in the South West most of the individual dealers are owned by one group so i'm sure they would be happy to do so.
Personally I think that when you are spending that amount of money a bit a travelling and effort are worthwhile.Current - 2016 Commercial SE

In a similar position to you looking at a couple of D4'S last week , wanted the SE Tech with rear cam if possible , close look and test drive on 2015 and 2016 models .
The 2015 had a rear cam and Almond interior 16K miles , 2016 no rear cam blk interior and 8000 miles , we decided to put a deposit on the newer car ( it appears to be well looked after ) and was with a dealer who we are happy with after 3 previous cars from them .

After market reversing cameras are £15-£50 + fitting, not £350! Easy to DIY but does need enabling with an IID tool or Autologic or similar. Dealers cant enable with the JLR software but there are plenty site sponsors on here who can.

Thanks all for your advice/feedback/responses, I've took the plunge (done the dirty deed) boy was that tough, I went for the se tech, they even tried to charge me for a set of mats because there wasn't any in car, but they did hit me with some (I think) overpriced parts & fitting, £1650 for towpack and sidesteps, apperantly that was with discount sir, I did also look at a landmark with good spec in white but wife didn't like the landmark and I couldn't justify paying extra 10.000 for the extras I wanted, going to just go (retro fit ha) with ICE, big & thanks again for help.

Hi fishboy, that is a good question, It wasn't mentioned, so does mean only the LRE vehicles have 2 locking diff. And is there easy way to tell if don't have access to car. I've got vehicle order form but that just has basic info.

East of England LRE had a D4 Graphite back in May when I went there, however it would be very easy to spot on the secondhand market as it had Surround cameras, blind spot detection and locking rear diff.Stu

I don't have any fancy gadgets apart from, satnav,DVD,I did ask the salesman and he assured me it wasn't a LRE vehicle, he said they don't sell them through front of house, will see on Friday when I collect at info on 4x4 screen.
Also has flappy paddles, I thought it was a nice touch.. didn't state anywhere.

I think you'll be alright. It is rare for an SE Tech to be ex LRE. They normally use Landmark or HSE Lux.
SE Tech didn't have camera as standard, any around with camera would have been specced
Double Dif was also an optional extra, as is electric seats and timed climate.
