BTW - Dealer called at tea time so say that the car will be there for me to collect on Wednesday next week rather than the friday so only 7 more sleeps rather than 9. I'm sure my little lad is excited too even though he's only 1 but my wife can't see what the fuss is all about. The only thing she woke up to was the prospect of a remote controlled pre heater!!

Well collected first thing this morning and it is brilliant. 120 smooth, quiet, comfortable miles under my belt at 29.4MPG which is better than I expected. Weather was really bad but just felt so safe and solid as a rock. The added bonus is that my wife managed to get much more comfortable in this one than she had in the 2007 Model we tested and said that she could get it just right. It's probably just the same but if she's happy then that's fine with me!!
Can't wait to do more miles in the car, taking it into work tomorrow and then handing it over to her indoors. We have a trip away planned for the weekend so that will be my next long run.

I've found out that they changed the passenger seat on the 2008 MY so her indoors was right, you can make more adjustments Embarassed also, the wood on this one is nothing like the wood cappings I saw on a 55reg in the dealers. It actually looks good in the car and I think he'll leave it as is. having said that, if someone was to produce a decent carbon fibre replacement that might be fitted.

All in all I can see why you guys rave about the Disco.

carbon fibre seems a bit advanced for Land Rover........it weighs 2.7 tonnes Wink

Aluminium would be more in keeping surely.....or lead Laughing end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......
