Altox GPS issues
I have had my Altox FBH controller since Jan this year and have been very pleased with it. However, it has developed an issue with the GPS tracker where it appears to lose satellite reception for a while in a journey, so instead of following the road map, it cuts across the map in straight lines, clearly joining the dots when receiving a signal. It can be like this for days, then OK for days. I have uploaded two images of the issue using a similar route. I have moved the unit from where beanie recommends and mounted above the headlight switch - this hasn't made any difference. I have noticed that, when the issue is present, the unit can say it cannot reach any satellites but shows a significant number, enough to receive a location. I found that carrying out a default reset rectified the issue immediately and for quite a few days, but it is playing up again. I have also set the tracking to track more frequently, but again no better. Any one else experienced this or any ideas as to what the issue is? I'm hoping it is not the unit, but can't see it being much else.
Good tracking
Same route, different day, poor tracking

I can't help with your issue sorry, but mine shows my vehicle in about 5 different places in the night like it's moving around when it's tucked up for the night!

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I've noticed that the location can move when stationary, but it is usually within a few metres or so. I know it is an "add-on" feature to the main feature of controlling the FBH but it came in useful a few months ago when the police knocked on the door asking if I'd been in an area where some suspicious activity had taken place on a local farm by some people in a Disco with a similar, if not cloned, registration like mine. I showed the Altox tracking data to the officer and confirmed I had not been in the area........honest! So, it is a useful tool to have, but not when it isn't as accurate as it once was.
Hopefully, someone else may have experienced my issue.
I've put mine in my BMW just for the tracking and ever since it went in, it can jump about when stationary. Several miles sometimes!
I put it down to location of the tracker - but never bother to move it as its good enough for what I want it for (Mileage tracking for work mostly )Mark.

I've managed to get to the bottom of this issue. It was the sim card I was using. I was originally using a Vodafone sim but decided to change this for a Virgin Mobile one. I changed back to the Vodafone one and have had no more issues. I don't why the Virgin sim would be affecting the Altox like it was but clearly it was affecting the data transmission, so it's gone.
