What would you expect from an engine that first made an appearance in 2004?

That’s assuming they tested the 3.0

Though it meets the legal limits in the tests. As with MPG the test needs to change.

My D5 swallows more AdBlue than my D4 did.

during the years you can upgrade the injection system and a lot of particulars without break the basic project (by itself already very advanced)......

No differences on technology from TDV6 and Ingenium at today.......

In a lab, you don't have air resistance to contend with. Obviously they will have higher emissions Rolling Eyes

But, that explains the rush for full EV's Thumbs Up

Diesel nox estimated 23k death, cutting nox will cut deaths by tens of thousands? Im no mathematician but reading that article and the Equa index scale it doesnt ring quite right?

I think diesel cars are just a drop in the ocean, diesel trucks need attention but as they do serious mileages they wear out and get replaced with newer models, but the dirtiest bits of carp on the road are the oooold buses you see running around on private plates that are so old they will be Euro2/3 and probably worse, these do wear out but dont get replaced.

I dont think we need to worry about car emissions, do you?

Quote

"a single container ship (emits)– an amount equal to the emissions of 50 million cars. For perspective: The 760 million cars that are currently operating worldwide emit as much sulfur as 15 container ships running at full capacity. There are currently over 6000 massive container ships operating globally and 85,000 commercial cargo ships on top of that."

True, but they don't sail around population concentrations such as urban areas!

In the case of cruise ships they have the population of a town with them. Takes quite a bit just to provide electrical power, air conditioning and alike even when not underway.

It’s easy to be critical of the current emissions test rules while papers, such as the Guardian, seem to accept the Equa Index and “real world testing” as gospel. However, we know much less about their methods than we do about the current flawed system; we could easily be replacing one flawed system with another...
