Milenco Flat.
You want to accurately see the rear of the caravan.
Your door mirrors will still cover the rest of the field of vision.

I have flat, plus a camera on the back of the caravan plugged into the SatNav display running through the diagnostics page...
If things were meant to be easy, then I will soon complicate them....

Thanks for the input chaps Thumbs Up

The van is 2.310 wide Navigator and quite well spec'd, they are throwing in the normal stuff in the price but I can see the usual "Oh we could do with one of those" and "That looks like a handy gadget to have".

Mmmm rear camera Steamyrotter now that's an idea.

Next question. When the Censored did blowup awings appear and has anyone got one?

Foot pump? 12v or hot air from SWIMBO?

Off to bed now been a long night shift

Blow up awning user here. It's a Kampa. One inflation point & pumps up in 100 strokes of the Manual floor pump. IMO easier to use the manual over the electric pump which is slow and a bit of a faff.

Camera well worth its weight in gold (well if it was heavier!!)
Tried a wireless one first but it wouldn't pick it up in the car!!
Then said blow it and hard wired it in.
Just have a BNC connector in the boot that i pop out under the bottom tailgate and plug into the signal cable from the camera.
Camera power supply is taken from the number plate light on the caravan (diode and capacitor fitted to take care of the bulb failure pulses)
Thing is i always drive with my lights on so seemed the easiest place to get 12v...

Personally not overly impressed with blow up awnings at the current premium.
I have sufficient load allowance for either of my awnings (Full & Porch) and just take the one I want.

Did get carbon poles for the full awning but wishing I had the alloy ones instead!!
The fittings keep unsticking and sliding up the poles.
If things were meant to be easy, then I will soon complicate them....

Good choice, I use the flat Milenco’s and they give a good accurate image,
blow up Air awnings, we’ve been caravanning for over 37 years and recently changed from poles to a brand new Vango Air Varkala 420, first one stitching all came away and fell to bits at the door seams the first time we put it up, replacement had an air beam fault (leak) and the cador seam tape all came away on its first use, just had that one replaced and not tried or tested the third one yet, all made in China we found out!, 4 individual air beams that only take a couple of minutes each to inflate with a manual pump, quite quick but it’s the same time as any others when you have to peg them out, in between waiting months for Vango and the dealer to sort things out as we needed the extra space for our (wet) dogs we bought a Suncamp porch awning simple pole type, cost £125 new, simple to put up, about 10 minutes didn’t leak, stayed up in a gale when we were at Stonehaven, just brilliant, Bradcot air are good, one connection and electric pump usually thrown in if you haggle, bit heavy tho, Suncamp and Kampa have a few air awnings that seem to get good feedback from other caravaners we spoke to on sites, good luck with getting one. Because of our experiences I’m of the opinion air awnings are not that great, next time I’ll seriously look at an Isabella pole awning and most likely grief from SWMBO when putting it up!

Fit and forget that's what I do,although I fit them I rarely use them, just so used to using ordinary mirrors and fitted ones always seem to vibrate too much to be of much use anyway. Wink

That is what the ones that aren't Millenco do!

Didn’t get chance to look in the end. Too much work and not enough play. Mirrors are bang on, when she gets her head round up a bit down a bit Laughing Off out again this weekend so might get chance to have a look at what’s out there

We've had a Kampa Rally Air 390 for a couple of years now and it's the best thing we've bought for caravanning.
So much easier to put up, I do it on my own while the wife sorts the inside of the van out, saves a lot of arguing Thumbs Up

In Aus, I replaced the standard mirrors with Clearview ones. They are terrific and look OK (I'm used to the Big Ears look). No setup needed - just pull them out when needed and push them in when not.

I have two rear cameras on the van but Aus laws require that you can see both far rear corners of the van in the mirrors, regardless of any cameras. Tried strap-on tow mirrors but they blow off too easily by oncoming road trains.

More info at http://www.clearviewmirrors.com.au/

I use the genuine Land Rover D4 towing mirrors, simply excellent and made for the job. I couldn't get on with the milenco ones but my mirrors are a different shape to the D3/early D4.
