That looks a lot more legal. Not that the previous set up wasn't. It just needs marker boards and notice to Chief Oficer of Police so many days in advance. The maximum side projection without such is still 12" - but expressed as 305mm.
That's why most folk have to take off towing mirrors after unhitching a caravan.
Milenco are on the ball and now sell longer arms to cater for the wider caravans.A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

@ mattpenrose - what towing mirrors are you using to see past (and the back corners of) the 866. I noticed that Milenco are doing some longer arms for the Aero's (which I have now, albiet the older ones, not the grand Aero's). Wonder if I needed to get a pair of these longer arms or not.

Al, I fitted the longer arms to my Milenco Aero's. They allow for good visibility on an 8ft van with adjustment to spare.

As has been mentioned by others there are plenty of RIBs being towed regularly in the UK that are over 8ft wide.
My 7.5M Ocean is @2.65M at it's widest, and from towball to the rear of the engine is @9.5M.
As can be seen below it's also Very high.
The only troubles I have are when I meet caravans or motorhomes coming the other way on smaller roads in Devon or Cornwall.

Sorry, I have only just seen this. I have the old aero's and seem to cope fine with them. I have been looking at the grand aero's and will probably pick some up at some point if I see any going cheap. I don't think the extended arms are necessary.
