Warranty direct
Morning all, I have a knocking coming from the rear suspension , I’ve got cover with warranty direct so took it to stratstones. They say the rear upper bushes knocking so they’ve contacted WD but WD are asking if it would fail an MOT , if not they say is doesn’t need repairing is this right?

My understanding is if the bushes are worn to a degree allowing excessive play or movement in the suspension arm component it’s an MOT failure.

So are WD within their rights not to repair even though it’s knocking but not an MOT failure?

Surely if there is enough play in the bush for it to be knocking it would be an MOT failure anyway, just get Stratstones to inform WD of this.D4 MY15 (64) SE Tech, Loire Blue

I did think that too , but he never said whether it would fail or not, due MOT in less than a month so could get it done early

My understanding would be...
It would be covered under “Wear and tear”, a part failed by gradual deterioration but not caused a breakdown.
Yes, it would also be covered by being an MOT failure if they’d found the problem whilst doing an MOT, as they didn’t then the standard ‘wear and tear’ part of the policy should cover it.D4 MY15 (64) SE Tech, Loire Blue

The problem you may have is that WD don't cover suspension parts for cars of a certain age/mileage.
I moved from WD to MotorEasy this year for the very reason that they weren't going to cover suspension parts at my renewal...and I have a 2011 D4 with 115k miles.Front Runner Rack, OEM Ladder & RAI, Tuff-Trek Foxwing, B'rakhah Ingonyama Expedition Trailer, RLD's Spare Wheel Protector, Bodsy's Bars, Empty Pockets! I paid extra for suspension and A/C , even though it’s an 08 but it has less than 100K miles
Well done. They may not let you at renewal though. I tried time and again to get them to change their mind and they wouldn't budge...so lost my custom.Front Runner Rack, OEM Ladder & RAI, Tuff-Trek Foxwing, B'rakhah Ingonyama Expedition Trailer, RLD's Spare Wheel Protector, Bodsy's Bars, Empty Pockets! Just take it somewhere else for an MOT and mention the knocking bush to them. I'd be quite confident of it failing if its knocking that badly.
